VEGA’s Multi-point Density Array (MDA) solution provides an unparalleled method of measuring interfaces, especially those with emulsion layers. It operates reliably in the most difficult of applications.
The MDA system is customized to the application. The measurement span and resolution determine the number of detectors and the orientation of the array mounted on the outside of the vessel. This array dictates the source holder and source requirements (number, size, location and construction) normally inserted into a dry well through a flanged interface on the vessel. Dry wells can be curved or straight to meet application needs. The dry well can be supplied by VEGA or the customer.
The MDA provides multiple outputs to a distributed control system (DCS) for graphical indication from each gauge, combines the signals as appropriate to provide a thickness measurement of various interfaces, or an overall level indication.
