Ohmart/VEGA recommends taking this review course every two years. This is a fast paced course designed to keep the RSO current in all of the practices and procedures to run a model radiation safety program. In addition is a general roundtable discussion with other RSOs; participants benefit from the experience of the others.
To keep up with the constant changes in Radiation Protection Standards, current RSOs benefit from this in-depth review of the principles of radiation safety. The new dose limits, required ALARA programs, record keeping, compliance and training of plant personnel are some of the topics covered.
