Hydraulic Oil for Power Plants
Facilities for moving large masses, such as cranes and lifting platforms, require powerful drive systems. Drilling systems and big tools are also power operated. Power generating plants take up a lot of space and usually cannot be located at the place they are needed. The power is therefore transmitted, almost loss-free, from the power plant to the usage site with the help of hydraulic systems.
The hydraulic oil required for power transmission circulates in a closed system, but it does dissipate due to greasing and leakage points. To ensure operational safety, every hydraulic system has its own storage tank for hydraulic oil, the contents of which has to be continually monitored.
Level Measurement with the VEGAFLEX 61
The VEGAFLEX 61 reliably measures the level in the hydraulic oil tank with the help of guided microwaves. This measuring principle is not affected by the composition of the oil or the process conditions pressure and temperature. The version with cable probe enables easy installation of the VEGAFLEX 61 from above even in cramped mounting situations.
