Temporary Storage of Contaminated Mud
The mud flowing back under high pressure from the drill hole is stored temporarily in the trip tank. This mud is contaminated with sea water, stones, and sand. It may also contain oil and gas residues.
VEGAPULS 66 for Level Measurement
The non-contact VEGAPULS 66 radar sensor is not affected by the composition of the used mud. Even an oil residue or gas atmosphere above the liquid does not impair the measurement. Due to its ceramic antenna system with graphite seal, the sensor has optimal chemical resistance and delivers accurate measuring results even under high pressures and temperatures.
