Feedwater Supply
Feedwater is necessary for the entire power plant circulation. After being vaporized in the boiler, it is conducted into the turbine at high pressure. If sufficient feedwater is not available, electricity production comes to a standstill. For that reason the measurement instrumentation is often laid out redundantly in the feedwater vessel. An inspection glass for power-off fault conditions is also built in.
VEGAFLEX 66 in the Feedwater Tank
Independent of condensate as well as high process temperatures and pressures, the VEGAFLEX 66 ensures very high measurement accuracy and reliability in the bypass tube. It can also be used to lay out the measurement loop according to SIL 2 or implemented according to SIL 3 in conjunction with the vibrating level switch VEGASWING 66. Safety-related implementation enables both overfill and dry run protection.
Level Measurement in the Feedwater Tank with the VEGADIF 55
Differential pressure measurement is particularly suitable for redundant level monitoring in the feedwater tank. By virtue of this physical measuring principle, three VEGADIF 55 sensors on the vessel can be connected in parallel over two impulse lines. High measuring precision, simple handling and a robust measuring cell make VEGADIF 55 the standard instrument on the feedwater tank.
VEGASWING 61 as Redundant Dry Run Protection
To provide reliable detection of the minimum level in the vessel, often two but sometimes even three VEGASWING 61 vibrating level switches are deployed. As a single device, it can also be used as dry run protection in safety-related systems up to SIL 2 (with redundancy up to SIL 3).
