Brandy is subject to legal customs regulations. That’s why there is a demand for absolutely reliable level measurement in the vessels where brandy is stored. Moreover, the sensors must correspond with the requirements according to ATEX II Ex Zone 0, as the brandy may generate explosive alcohol vapor.
Non-Contact Level Measurement with the VEGAPULS 62
For this application, the non-contact radar measuring principle is the best solution. The level is measured reliably and precisely because the sensor is not influenced by process conditions such as gas mixtures and density changes. Due to the very small size of the antennas, the vessel volume can be fully utilized. The radar sensors ensure very good focusing, high antenna gain, minimal false echo generation and a high measuring accuracy of ±3 mm.
Level Measurement with the VEGAFLEX 61
As an alternative to non-contact measurement, the VEGAFLEX 61 can also be implemented. The principle of the guided wave also has advantages; as a result of the more highly concentrated radar signals in the rod, measurement is not affected by vessel installations. Setup is extremely easy; the sensor comes already adjusted and delivers accurate measurement data right from the start.
